My Bio
I am a strong believer that the process is more important that the product. In most of my work, the goal is to discover, not to create a pretty picture. I think art is one of the most powerful tools in the discovery of self, and it is through that discovery that we communicate with others.

My focus in art is primarily in theatre. I design sets and spaces, for the most part, and have touched on costume design as well. There is nothing more satisfying than seeing all artistic efforts come together in a cohesive piece, and I think this is why I am so attached to theatre.

Favourite genre of music: Folk Rock, Contemporary Jazz
Favourite style of art: German Expressionism
Favourite cartoon character: Asterix

Favourite Visual Artist
Kandinski
Favourite Movies
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (or most of Gondry's work)
Favourite Bands / Musical Artists
Dave Matthews Band, Xavior Rudd, Charles Mingus
Other Interests
Theatre, art, music, skiing
I have been doing a lot of creative work lately, theatre performance specifically.  I recently was fortunate enough to get hired at a theatre this summer, where i am going to be doing performance, design and teaching, as well my proposal for the student directed season at the University just got accepted.  These are two golden opportunities for me, especially going into my last year of my BFA.  But what is really amazing about these recent opportunities, is that both are collective works, based around the creation within a group of artists.  I have had experience working collectively before, but never to this extent.  It's amazing how liberat

I have been listening to a lot of Jazz, mostly ranging from Bebop to Free Jazz, and I'm finding that I'm so intrigued by it.  The more I listen to it, the more I learn, and the more I learn the more I feel like I'm connecting with the artist.  It just seems like a space where the walls start to open up and you are able to venture into those areas that you've never looked before. I was YouTubing some various artists the other day and I was watching some Cecil Taylor, a free jazz pianist.  I have to say he is now one of my favorites, just with the intensity he plays with, and how he makes the piano a work of art by gesturing with it. He seems

It's been an interesting day in that my mind has been set on ideas about art, mixed in with fairly strong emotions of day to day life.  I find myself in a weird state of mind where logical things such as time and space are far less important to me compared to less logical things, such as what song is playing or what the shape of the line is I just made on my sketch pad.  Planning my day seems out of the question in this space and I find it extremely enjoyable. I guess to explain this space a bit more in detail, I have been experiencing change in my life; change in myself as well as in relationships with other people, and I am finding out how
